Research Interest
Research in our group is focussed on the transport and sensing of nutrients, on genotypical factors determining nutrient efficiency in plants, and on mechanisms causing plant growth promotion by associative rhizosphere bacteria. Employing a broad technical platform for measuring nutrients, isotopes, metabolites, and phytohormones we conduct transport and growth studies in climate chambers, greenhouses and in the field using yeast and Arabidopsis thaliana as model species and barley and wheat as target crops.
