Since 1993, we have successfully held an Open Day once a year, from 2001 together with local partners.

 

On this day, the institute opens its labs and greenhouses for the general public and offers its visitors an exciting trip behind the scenes of our research work. Scientists explain, for instance, how plants can be genetically modified or show how computers and robots are aiding our research efforts. Our visitors are given the opportunity to act as plant researchers themselves or to use our most up to date microscopes to make a journey into the inside of plant cells.
