Ag Resources Genetics and Reproduction

Head: PD Dr. Andreas Börner

Research Interest

This research group is responsible for the [link]management of the Gatersleben genebank collection, which entails the long-term storage, multiplication and distribution of the germplasm. Its major research foci concern [link]seed longevity, [link]genetic integrity and [link]genetic diversity, and it also carries out an extensive programme of germplasm [link]evaluation and genetic characterisation. The experimental work belongs to the IPK research theme 1 "Concepts for the valorization of plant genetic resources" and is done in close co-operation with other IPK research groups with expertise in molecular and biochemical techniques, as well as with numerous non-IPK institutions.
