Reserach library and information services

The library of the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) is a specialised scientific library with a stock of approx. 80,000 media units.

Its main task is to provide local literature for the staff of the IPK - as a public library, it is available to all external interested parties with its range of services.  Through participation in Leibniz consortia, scientists have online access to numerous journals relevant to science.

The following collection foci characterise the library profile: botany, plant genetics, cytology, cell and tissue culture, molecular cell biology of plants, agricultural plant cultivation, plant taxonomy and crop plant research. Particularly noteworthy is the collection of floral works from all over the world.

The library is connected to the supra-regional loan system and bears the seal: "GAT1".

Information on library use, catalogues and subject databases can be found here.

Library opening hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 3pm.
