The culturally diverse Research Group “Plant Architecture” lead by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Schnurbusch is primarily interested in basic research questions concerning how cereal inflorescences, called spikes, develop and how this contributes to yield formation.
Your tasks:
- You carry out the harvest of individual spikes and assist with the row and plot harvests.
- You support data collection in field and greenhouse trials.
- You conduct phenotyping of barley and wheat spikes and data recording.
- Additionally, you are involved in post-harvest processing work.
Your qualifications and skills:
- Ideally, you are enrolled in a Master’s program in plant sciences, crop science, plant breeding, or a related field.
- You are interested in fieldwork and data collection.
- Knowledge or experience with data analysis is an asset.
