With large population size and dense genomic data such as whole-genome sequencing, new models and algorithms are needed to remove the bottleneck of computational load for large-scale genome-wide association studies. In the frame of a third party funded research project, we are looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist:

Your tasks:

  • Developing new algorithms for genome-wide association studies with improved efficiency and statistical power
  • Establishing software packages implementing the developed algorithms
  • Applying the algorithms to analyze large-scale data in wheat and other crops

Your qualifications and skills:

  • You have a PhD in quantitative genetics, biostatistics or related fields.
  • You have good knowledge in matrix algebra, linear mixed models and machine learning.
  • You have experience in programming and developing statistical algorithms for genetics research.
  • You have experience in analyzing large-scale phenotypic and genomic data.

You fit to us:

  • if you are self-motivated and highly dedicated.
  • if you have good writing and oral communication skills.
